International Educational Exchange & Facilitation Experience

July 2023-Ongoing Humanity in Action (HIA) – International NGO and Leadership Development Organization
Community Engagement Manager, Remote between Europe and the United States

  • Lead community programming for a global alumni network of 3,000+ members across six offices in the US (New York, New York, USA) & Europe (Amsterdam, Netherlands; Berlin, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark; Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina; Warsaw, Poland)

  • Design and launch the Senior Fellow Assembly, a new leadership body with approximately 20 alumni, ensuring representation across countries and programs, participatory governance, and engagement across three committees led by two Co-Chairs.

  • Organize Humanity in Action’s first international network-wide cohort reunions (held in September 2024), connecting intergenerational alumni across over 100 cohorts from over 25 years of fellowships through inclusive, interactive programming. This includes an all-alumni public program with speakers, followed by individual cohort gatherings. Learn more here.

  • Design and Facilitate digital and hybrid events (webinars, panels, open calls, focus groups, brainstorming labs) on democracy, migration, and civic engagement, and more, prioritizing meaningful interaction and peer learning. This includes a Call for Contributions: UN Summit of the Future 2024 for critical perspectives, commentaries, and insights around the Summit.

  • Launch Dinner Dialogues, an international in-person initiative engaging 100+ alumni across 15+ cities worldwide through shared meals and intentional conversations on timely, relevant issues, fostering learning, reflection, and community support. Prototyped in November 2023, launched as an offering in 2024-2025.

  • Conceptualized, designed, and produced a bimonthly impact report, “Senior Fellows: Making a Difference,” for Humanity in Action’s donors, partners, Inc. Board, and community. The report highlights individual Senior Fellows’ professional achievements, fellowship impact, and includes curated “Community Highlights” with hyperlinks to notable projects and updates from Senior Fellows globally.

  • Manage community platforms and CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Superhive, LinkedIn, Mailchimp) to enhance connectivity and engagement. Work closely with Communications colleagues on social media promotion of alumni activities and offerings.

  • Support executive leadership transition from April-September 2025 with new permanent Executive Director of HIA including the development and execution of strategic plan through 2026, including surveying nearly 200 alumni worldwide, supporting grant proposals, liaising between stakeholders across HIA Inc staff, Board members, and alumni.

June-November 2023, US Exchange Alumni Grants Program: Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund (CDAF), Co-Project Led for ‘Creating Community for Ukrainian Refugees Through Art’ Community Engagement Project, Kraków and Warsaw, Poland

  • Co-lead a grant project which seeks to connect the local migrant and refugee communities in Poland, specifically the growing Ukrainian refugee community, and our organizational partners are based in Poland through art. 

  • Create workshops, exhibitions, and a digital catalogue of programming alongside members of the local and international community in Poland and share with US audience.

  • Participate in The Training of Teachers (ToT) in Warsaw from 18-22 April and teach the three-day PDO in Warsaw with youth to prepare program participants for their exchange experience using materials provided by American Councils

  • Plan Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) sessions together with the local orientation team and teach students in English about American culture and family life.

  • Conduct workshops with Polish and international youth which intersect creating individual and group artist projects, cross-cultural exchange and dialogue, and learning about cultural heritage, collective memory and identity, and forms of mapping across disciplines and through physical, cultural, and socio-political frameworks.

  • Facilitate workshops for Poles and Ukrainians working or volunteering in Humanitarian Aid through location non-profit organizations in Kraków. Workshops include topics on Humanitarian Aid vocabulary and phrases, discussions and writing prompts for professional communication (i.e. writing emails, proposals, and presentations), cultural norms / differences in a multicultural context.

June 2022 & October 2022 | US-Polish Fulbright Commission, Project Reviewer and Orientation Volunteer

  • Serve as a Project Reviewer for the Fulbright Graduate Student Award 2023-2024 for Poles applying to the US and as a volunteer at Warsaw Orientation for American grantees to Poland by providing presentations for Student Researchers on conducting their projects and on Tips for Living in Poland related to culture, language, cuisine, and more.

  • Design and implement community engagement projects and individual research including a paper publication in MOCAK Forum Magazine, a series of Guided Tours of the museum’s temporary and permanent collections, and execute a discussion and art-making workshop titled “T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R: Building unity through art.”

Cooperation includes a paper publication in MOCAK Forum Magazine entitled, Rumors of War and Rainbow: A Two Case Study Investigation of “Controversial” Contemporary Public Art, an analysis of contemporary public art in Poland and the US.
